HeyDenver is a program of the Denver Colorado AIDS Project. It is a collaborative effort between Denver Colorado AIDS Project and Denver Public Health Outreach. HeyDenver is a non-profit community-based organization that provides free and confidential sexual health services and sexually transmitted infection (STI) testing. Testing is available seven days a week. We have times that are appointment only and other times that are walk-in only.  Check here for available testing times.

HeyDenver is unlike most testing centers. We offer a comfortable, informal testing experience; with magazines, community artwork, music, and cozy seating in the waiting area. When you arrive at HeyDenver, you walk into a waiting room that feels more like your living room than it does a medical center. Feel free to sit down and relax, one of our volunteers or testers will be with you right away. After filling out some confidential, secure paperwork, we will do our best to get you connected with a tester as soon as possible. Although HeyDenver is a casual space, our staff and volunteers adhere to the strictest standards of professionalism, hygiene, and sanitation. They are ultimately here to empower and inform you about your emotional and sexual health. If you have any questions, do not hesitate to call or stop by and ask one of us. We are able to offer you testing once every three months.

HeyDenver is staffed by two groups; Denver Public Health Outreach Staff and HeyDenver Staff.

Denver Public Health-is available for syphilis, gonorrhea, chlamydia, and HIV. Photo identification is required. During HeyDenver hours, testing is available for gonorrhea, chlamydia, and HIV. Photo identification is not required for HIV testing during HeyDenver hours, but it is required for gonorrhea and chlamydia testing. The population we test during Denver Health times are gay/bi men and trans-identifying folks.

HeyDenver offers discreet HIV testing that does not require identification or answering health screening questions. During this time we will test any population for HIV, chlamydia, and gonorrhea.

This can be a very big experience for some folks and we completely understand that. Before to start your HIV we will check in with you about how you are feeling and can come up for you. The care and treatment of HIV have dramatically changed over time. HIV is a treatable disease and with the proper care, we can help you to become undetectable.

Our tests are rapid third generation tests. You will have your results before you leave.

  • We use the Uni-Gold™ Recombigen® HIV-1/2 Test and The INSTI® HIV-1/HIV-2 Rapid Antibody Test.
  • During HeyDenver testing times, we use either the Uni-Gold™ Recombigen HIV-1/2 or The INSTI® HIV-1/HIV-2 Rapid Antibody Test. You may request us to use The OraQuick ADVANCE® Rapid HIV-1/2 Antibody Test if available.

In the event of a reactive or positive test, we will work with you and Denver Public Health for next day confirmatory testing that is free of charge. From there, our agency will work with you to navigate insurance, financial issues and anything else that might come up for you.
